1. Connie's Quick Computers (CQC)
• This website is now offline, but the link above will take you to a brief comment about this first name of our business.
2. JOY Center of Learning
• My Home Educator's Lesson Planner (HELPS) is available at JOY Center of Learning in two forms (complete and reproducible). Once you arrive at the JOY Center of Learning website, enter the store and then type "lesson planner" into the search box. When you press the search button you will jump to the product page.
3. Switched on Schoolhouse
• This computer-based curriculum offers lots of colour, 3-D animation, video clips, games and other kinds of interactivity. Perfect for kids who like flash and pizzazz!
4. Rosetta Stone
• Students learn a language by viewing photographs on computer while hearing descriptive phrases and reading and writing text. They can also speak the phrases into the computer and compare their vocalizations.
5. Miquon Math
   • Six workbooks covering grades 1-3 teach students the basics of arithmetic. It was great fun for all of us to use the coloured wooden sticks to see concepts in action.
6. Key To...series
   • There are several books in this series, each designed to focus the student on one aspect of mathematics. Great for filling in gaps. Examples: Key to Fractions, Key to Decimals, Key to Geometry, etc.
7. Professor B Mathematics
• The Prof B textbooks tell parents exactly how to explain math concepts in a very organized manner, covering everything and leaving no gaps. Very impressive!
8. Saxon Math
• The is the math program that all the homeschoolers were raving about when we began homeschooling in the 90's and we planned to use it when we finished Miquon. We never got there!
9. Writing Strands
• When my children and I could no longer live with the constant frustration caused by my attempts to encourage a higher standard of writing, we were saved by this product. Written directly to the student, the books tell them what to do and how to determine if they did it right.
10. The Weaver Curriculum
• A unique Bible-based unit study curriculum for grades K-12 where everyone studies the same concepts together--but at different levels--like in a one-room schoolhouse. This is the product that gave me my start in curriculum development! See my Weaver Curriculum Canadian Supplements.
11. Heart of Wisdom Unit Studies
• I wish I had discovered this years ago. It would have been great to teach/learn Hebrew history as a main focus!
12. It All Begins with Genesis
• Marketed by the Answers in Genesis organization, this curriculum provides 34 extremely informative lessons about Genesis 1-11. It was a great complement to our home school when the children were old enough for thorough study!
13. Mott Media
• For those who like old-fashioned materials, you can purchase things like McGuffey's Readers and Ray's Arithmetic here. This is where I acquired Margaret Bishop's book "The ABC's and All Their Tricks" which was my main reference when I developed ICANSPELL.
14. Bob Jones
• If you need a thorough curriculum where every lesson is scripted for you, this might be what you need.
15. Sonlight Curriculum
• This is a Christian company specializing in creating and marketing literature-based homeschool curriculum programs for K-12. If you wish to expose your children to excellent literature (whether Christian or not) this might be a good fit for you.
16. Cross-Over Products by René Ellison
• This website and business is named for the word "Hebrew" which indicates one who has "crossed over" or "crossed a boundary." Mrs. Ellison says says that she is impelled and enabled by the power of the Messiah to do her work. Among other things she has created a program for teaching typing really fast!
17. Frog Guts--Virtual Dissection Software
• Need to dissect something but can't find the resources? Try "virtually" dissecting a frog, squid, starfish, cow eye, owl pellet, fetal pig...
18. Ignite the Fire
• Terry Camp's website uses fire terminology (the fire, the wood, the sparks, etc.) to describe how she homeschools her 8 children.
19. Prepare and Pray!

• For your peace of mind, join HSLDA Canada. (In 2008, the price was $125/year--discounts are often available through support groups.)
2. Home School Legal Defense Association (US)
• Join a group of people who are working at the front lines to preserve your right to homeschool. Various promotional offers are available.
3. A to Z's Cool Homeschool Website

4. The Ontario Federation of Teaching Parents
• Links to numerous suppliers of educational materials (books, textbooks, curriculum packages, software, etc.), many of which are Canadian.
5. Canadian Home Based Learning Resource Page
• This is an informational website on Canadian home based learning (homeschooling*) resources, support, projects and events, as well as the "home school"* laws and regulations that apply to each Canadian province and territory.
6. Charlotte Mason method
• Just google "Charlotte Mason" and you'll find a plethora of websites about her method of educating children with "living books." This is just one example.
7. Classic Reader
• This page contains a list of G. A. Henty books that can be read online. I read "The Young Carthaginian." Wow. Henty is an awesome writer and I learned a lot of things you don't hear about at school! This website contains several sections: Fiction (where I found Henty), Non-Fiction, Young Readers, Poetry, Short Stories, Drama, and Classical.
8. Blue Letter Bible
• This website offers many, many tools for your Bible study. We used it at one point to listen to the Scriptures!
9. Abe Books: New and Used Books, Textbooks, Rare and Out of Print Books
• Awesome database of booksellers. In 2008 this site provided the ability to search through 110 million books!
10. Canadian Province/Territories Unit Studies
• Learn about the geography of Canada and facts about the provinces and territories. Helpful especially for the printable maps.
11. Canadian Heritage--Canadian Studies Program
• A government of Canada program designed to help Canadians understand their country, history, stories, people and systems of government.
12. Daily Grammar
• Visit the Daily Grammar Lessons Archive for links to 440 quick lessons with assignments, answers provided. Great for review and filling in gaps.
13. Education Place Homeschool Links
• Houghton Mifflin Harcourt website. Look for the freebies.
14. Free Stuff for Canadian Teachers
• This website is dedicated to providing current links to free resources, materials, lesson plans, software, samples and computers--for Canadians!
15. Free Worksheets, Unit Studies and Other Stuff on the Internet
