HEBREW ROOTS LINKS
Some of our favourite Hebrew roots links
(in no particular order)
We are fortunate to have many, many excellent Torah teachers, websites and other kinds of resources in our day. The lists of links that follow are only a few favourites that I've found helpful over the years. Please do not assume I mean anything by not listing a speaker or ministry here!
- Favourite Torah Teachers
Brad Scott, of Wildbranch Ministries
- Brad Scott has been teaching the Scriptures since 1971, focussing on Hebrew language and culture since 1983. His website and ministry focus is to restore the ways of our Creator to His people by teaching the Old and New Testaments from the language and culture of the people who penned them. Don't miss these sections of the Wildbranch website: Teachings, Articles, Greek-Hebrew Mind, Word of the Week.
Monte Judah, of Lion and Lamb Ministries
- Monte Judah is a riveting speaker and Torah teacher, and founder of Lion and Lamb Ministries. It is a non-profit, international teaching ministry with a mission to encourage the believers of Yeshua the Messiah by the observance of Torah, Sabbath, and the Biblical Festivals. Monte's congregation broadcasts its Erev Shabbat (Friday evening) service live via Real Player and Paltalk, and the teachings are placed online for a short time then transferred to MP3 format for sale. They are also replayed frequently in various Paltalk rooms.
Eddie Chumney, of Hebraic Heritage Ministries International
- Eddie's life is 100% devoted to restoring the Hebraic Roots/Jewishness of Christianity wherever he has opportunity. His "5-minute update" on the Paltalk chat room service is enormously popular, as are his numerous Scripture-filled teachings on Hebraic topics such as "Restoring the Two Houses of Israel" and "The Elijah Message." If you can't afford to buy his books, read them online! (See Recommended Reading.)
Rico Cortes, of Wisdom in Torah Ministries
- "Wisdom in Torah Ministries shares the Torah and The Brit Hadasha with Christians and Messianic believers. Our mission is to bring people back to the TORAH of YHVH. Teaching the principals of Torah for our every day life. Returning to Covenant Relationship with our Creator through our SAVIOUR, KOHEN HaGADOL YAHSHUA HaMASHIACH." Rico is a very popular teacher in Hebraic Roots circles. Especially if you have Spanish-speaking friends who need to hear this message, point them to Rico!
Bill Cloud, of Shoreshim Ministries
- Bill Cloud is always developing some new and interesting message, and is a very popular speaker at Messianic conferences. He has developed a variety of media resources dealing with prophetic themes as well as teachings related to our lost Hebraic heritage.
John K. McKee, of TNN Online
- TNN is comprised of three sub-websites (Tribulation News Network, Theology News Network, and the Two-House News Network). McKee's goal is to discuss all manner of Biblically related issues, primarily Messianic apologetics. Topics include: prophecy, eschatology, current events, theology and doctrine, and the Hebraic Roots of our faith with a Two-House emphasis on all Israel. He strives to address these issues from a theologically conservative and evangelical, yet progressive and modern viewpoint.
Tony Robinson, of Restoration of Torah
- Tony uses thematic analysis to develop his teachings on Torah. If you listen to Tony, you will catch his enthusiasm for seeing themes everywhere!
Daniel Rendelman, of Emet Ministries
- Daniel is a very engaging speaker, whose shabbat messages are posted on this website weekly. Other features of the website include an extensive archive of articles, audio messages, and videos. Highly recommended!
Mike Clayton, of Joined to HaShem
- "Statement of Purpose: To teach the Hebraic perspective of faith in and obedience to the One True God." After you go to this website you can read this simple statement explained in more detail. This website contains a lot of informative resources you will enjoy.
- One of Mike's missions is to help us prepare for disaster. The
Torah Is Life website is devoted to the belief that Yeshua HaMashiach is the Messiah over the whole House of Israel. His return to set up His Kingdom is very near. We seek to help prepare His family for the troublesome days which scripture states will precede His coming, the time of Jacob's Trouble. Deuteronomy 30 tells us that Torah will give us life through every situation and circumstance we may face. We seek to help prepare the family of God spiritually, emotionally and physically.
Tom Bradshaw, Torah Class
- Tom's lessons are filled with much background information and thought-provoking commentary that you will find extremely useful, particularly if you are new to the whole idea of keeping Torah. They were taught over a period of years to a church just coming to grips with the truth of the Saturday Sabbath and biblical feasts, as well as the importance of Israel in the world. Tom doesn't go as far as others of my favourite Torah teachers in respect to just how prophecy is being fulfilled today, but his lessons are awesome! The Torah Class lessons are posted online in three formats: MP3, text, and illustrations--so they could be very useful as teaching tools in a homeschool, church, or small group setting. They are not organized according to the weekly parsha familiar to Jews and Messianic believers, so I prepared a chart doing so. You can download my
Tom Bradford's Torah Class Lessons Correlated With Parashiot checklist and tick off the lessons as you go! If you'd like to have easy access to these teachings organized into parsha, please
join my Yahoo group where SendSpace links are posted periodically.
Bill Bullock, Rabbi's Son Yahoo group
- Contact Bill Bullock (aka "The Rabbi's Son") at rabbisson@cableone.net and ask him to begin sending you his daily Torah lessons. Bill writes them for his homeschooled sons, but I find them perfect. And his writing style makes me feel right at home!

We are dedicated to providing the means for learning about and the discussion of the Bible, both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the New Covenant (New Testament), including everything instructed, commanded, and written about therein."
United Israel World Union
- "United Israel World Union was formed in 1944 by the late founder, David Horowitz. Its sole purpose is to publish historical and biblical research on the Lost Tribes of Israel and to promote their "return" to both the Hebrew Faith and their identification with the Jewish People (called "Judah" in the Hebrew Prophets)." Check out their articles, "Welcome to United Israel" and "Were the Lost Tribes Ever Really Lost?"

The Ghost of Marcion, by Daniel Botkin
- A very important article on Fern's Homestead website about how the Church got so far off-course. Excerpt: "How did this shift of focus come about? What caused the Church to begin paying so much attention to Paul and so little attention to the Law and the Prophets and other parts of the Bible? To discover the answer to this question, we must go all the way back to the Second Century. After all the original Apostles had died, other people took on the responsibility of continuing the Church's work. The original Apostles were all Jews, who had been exposed to the teachings of the Law and the Prophets since their childhood. The leaders who replaced them were mostly Gentiles from pagan backgrounds, who had comparatively little understanding of the Old Testament Scriptures. We can read about these people in various documents from the Second Century.... There is one character, however, which was undoubtedly one of the devil's own agents: the heretic Marcion, who...taught that the entire Old Testament should be rejected because it belonged to an evil, inferior God, and not to the God revealed by Jesus of Nazareth."
Torah Rediscovered, by Ariel and D'vorah Berkowitz
- Awesome explanation of why we ought to keep Torah! "Torah Rediscovered lovingly challenges readers, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, to take an honest new look at the true nature of the first five books of the Bible (The Torah). Torah Rediscovered reveals the beauty and depth of God's divine covenantal revelation. In doing so, Torah Rediscovered attempts to demonstrate to all who seek to understand it how its divinely inspired pages can help them to learn in greater depth what it means to be new creations in Messiah."
Galatians: Quick Reference Pocket Commentary, by Avi ben Mordechai
- Beit Tefillah Messianic Home Fellowship is giving away free copies of Avi's booklet about Galatians (while quantities last). I asked for and received one very quickly! "This is a largely scaled down version of the full 500 page commentary. The size of the book is about 4 inches wide x 6 inches long (10cm x 15cm), about 100 pages and small enough for any pocket, purse, or desk drawer. The material in this new commentary is all freshly written and in fact has some new insights that are not in the larger 500-page book (this means it is not a "cut and paste" job from the 500-page book) and this small pocket commentary GETS RIGHT DOWN TO THE POINT QUICKLY and with copious scripture references to back all things up. Also, if someone happens to get themselves into one of those little proverbial "tight spots" with family or friends, where he or she doesn't know what to say or do next, and feels particularly "backed into a corner," especially when communicating with another person about Galatians, this little quick reference pocket commentary is the perfect solution! One can turn quickly to the chapter and verse in question and see the basic points of it with full scriptural and contextual support, in first-century Hebraic biblical and rabbinic context."

a discussion on the timing of Passover, by Tom Bradshaw
- This link goes to the Torah Class lesson for Week 175, on Deuteronomy 16 part two. During the course of this lesson, Tom discusses the biblical feasts and focusses attention on the timing of Passover. He does a good job of diplomatically discussing the hotly debated topic of the actual day of the week on which Jesus was crucified.
Christianity Reconsidered, by Warren Bowles
- Get ready to have some of your cherished beliefs challenged! When I read this book after having been acquainted only a short time with the Messianic movement I felt like Warren had been reading my mail! Available from Lion and Lamb Ministries. Please note that this is the only book I've read by this author; I am not able to endorse anything else he teaches.
Too Long in the Sun, by Richard Rives

It's Time: A Message for the Remnant
- The Most High God, Adonai El Shaddai, has a message for His people, but are we listening? This book takes a look at current events from a Biblical point of view focusing on what we need to do to prepare for the days ahead. Just who is the remnant and what message does the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob have for these people? What secrets did the prophets of old have that made their prayers so powerful and how can God’s chosen ones recapture the same kind of faith found in men like Samuel, Elijah and Elisha?
